Description
Rock Rose Tauric is a perennial member of the Cistaceae family. This bushy evergreen is native to the Mediterranean region where it has been used medicinally for thousands of years. A miniature of the Rock Roses, the “Tauric” variety produces short-lived pink flowers July through September. Rock Rose is anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, antioxidant, and is a vasodilator. Traditionally, its leaves were harvested for tea and used to treat diarrhea, fever, skin disorders, and as a mouthwash. In addition, Cistus tea has anti-bacterial and cardiovascular benefits. In fact, the plant is also used to heal wounds and ulcers; and modern studies show results when using Rock Rose to treat Lyme disease and upper respiratory infections.
