Description
Meadow or American Arnica is a creeping perennial native to the mountains of the American West that is valued for its anti-inflammatory properties. Collect the prolific yellow flowers immediately after opening, then use them fresh or dried on unbroken skin to reduce swelling and bruising, as well as to ease arthritic joints. Use the entire flower head in creams, salves, and ointments. Arnica’s medicinal flowers are analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, antimicrobial, anti-oxidative and anti-radical.
