Description

With a flavor similar to licorice, Mexican Tarragon or Mint Marigold, is an aromatic herb that mimics French
Tarragon but is easier to grow. It has a long history as a medicinal plant, and modern studies show that when
combined with UV rays, it may hinder E.coli and Staph cultures. As a culinary herb, use Tarragon flowers in tea and use its leaves fresh or dried in soups and sauces. Therapeutically, the entire plant is digestive, diuretic, febrifuge, hypotensive, narcotic, sedative and stimulant. Tarragon is used externally to treat scorpion bites and remove ticks.
Fun facts: its root secretions are effective against nematodes in the soil. In addition, burn the dried plant materials to repel insects. Also, its flowers are used to make dye. Download our Mexican Tarragon Plant PDF Reference sheet.
